Milk is added into the French Toast mix to help soften the bread, balance out the flavour and promote better browning of the surface. Additionally, milk is another nutrient-rich beverage that has a variety of benefits for health. It is a good source of calcium.Also, milk is rich in protein and vitamin D as well, which are all good for health.

French Toast Breakfast

  • 2 large eggs
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 4 slices bread
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • A pinch of salt
  • A dash of cinnamon powder
  • unsalted butter
  • raw honey
  1. Into a mixing bowl, add in the eggs and beat them well with a fork or a whisk. Then, add in the milk, the salt, cinnamon powder and sugar and mix well until the sugar is properly dissolved.

  2. Next, heat up a frying pan and smear some butter over it and let it get heated.

  3. Then, place a slice of bread into the mixture and coat each side evenly, by flipping it. Thereafter, place it on the heated pan and wait for a few minutes until it browns and turns golden brown in color before flipping the side and repeat.

  4. Repeat this process for all the slices of bread.

  5. Remove from pan and serve hot. You could drizzle some honey over the bread and enjoy it!


Topping Suggestions

For the topping, besides drizzling the French Toast with some hone, you could also use other toppings like maple syrup, date syrup, jaggery liquid, agave nectar, whipped cream, Nutella etc.

You could also top up your French Toast with some chopped fruits like strawberries, blueberries etc. Additionally, you can sprinkle some of your favourite nuts, chopped into pieces.

Alternative Ingredients

Sweetener: As a substitute for sugar, you can add in cane sugar or jaggery power.

Flavouring Agents: If you do not like the flavour of cinnamon, you can substitute it with nutmeg powder or half a teaspoon of vanilla essence.

White Bread: In case you do not wish to have white bread, you could always substitute it with brown bread or any other bread of your choice.

Storage Instructions
